Meeting Minutes
November 24, 2009
The Martha’s Vineyard Regional Transit Authority Advisory Board met on Tuesday November 24, 2009 at 10:30 AM in the offices of the Transit Authority, 11 A Street in Edgartown. Present were Alice Butler (Oak Bluffs), John Alley (West Tisbury) , Connie Teixeira (Tisbury), June Manning (Aquinnah), Lenny Jason (Chilmark) and Mary Beth Grady, (non voting disabled commuters’ representative), Angela Grant, Administrator (VTA), and Lois Craine (VTA).
The meeting was called to order at 10:32 AM.
Ridership
Ms. Grant reported a 4% decrease in ridership. Discussion followed.
Draft FY09 Financials
Ms. Grant reported an increase in revenue, specifically passenger fares following the day pass increase July 1, 2009. Service cuts in July were restored by August due to ARRA funds received and New Freedom funds have also kept the year under budget.
ARRA Capital/Operational
Ms Grant reported 4 new buses delivered with a further 5 expected in January. Additional stimulus funding of $182,000. will be added to operating.
Funding FY10
Ms Grant reviewed revised VTA funding for FY10 as the VTA was awarded New Freedom money and additional ARRA funds.
RMV
Ms. Grant advised the Board that the RMV has agreed to a 5 year lease with an annual increase.
